In a few words

We are facing an exciting challenge: to shape an intense city that focuses on its inhabitants and achieves high environmental performance levels. Acting alongside elected officials and local authorities, with the support of its partners, Nacarat endeavours to find solutions to societal and ecological challenges. While we assume responsibility for playing our role as an economic player, we are also committed to producing buildings that enhance the surrounding environment in which they stand: in other words, we are committed to creating economic value (the corollary to job creation and other social values) and to enhancing the ecological value of local areas.

Assessed on the basis of the ISO 26000 standard, Nacarat’s fulfilment of its sustainable development commitment relies on an eco-design approach: this comes in the form of a tool called ASAP* developed by Nacarat, based on international research work on the sustainable city (see LEED, BREEAM, HQE, Living Building Challenge, Positive Economics). In order to improve its performance in this regard, Nacarat has formed partnerships with experts specialised in areas of knowledge such as biodiversity, energy efficiency, renewable energy sources, education, etc.

These initiatives have resulted in numerous practical and sometimes unexpected solutions to 15 specific challenges, notably those relating to the fostering of greater diversity of urban developments to enhance social bonding and to generate greater enthusiasm for the concept of living together.
